How To Treat Bed Bug Bite Scars And Marks 20 Proven Remedies
In this guide, we will study some remedies that will help you treat bed bug bite scars and marks, but if you do not take care of your bed bug infestation, then chances are that you will continue to need these remedies over and over. So, use bed bug prevention and management strategies in order to get rid of bed bugs in the first place.
If you are going to bed at night but waking up from time to time due to intense itching then there is a high probability that you are dealing with a bed bug infestation. You might even have mosquitoes but if you are already using electric mosquito repellent then that possibility is rare. Chances are that you are dealing with a bed bug situation which, if left untreated, might escalate out of control.
Bed bug bites per se do not scar; it is the scratching action performed with sharp or dirty fingernails that can cause scarring. Since bed bug bites usually occur at nighttime when one is fast asleep, it is not possible to control the urge to scratch. Scratching the bed bug bite can lead to rashes and can even form pus and secondary infections of the skin. Even after a few days of the bite, the skin still continues to itch. If the victim scratches the site of the bite, s/he might accidentally remove the scab that is forming on the skin while it heals. This leads to scar formation.
There are many remedies- some home remedies and others surgical procedures obtained at a professional- that can help you get rid of bed bug bite scars and marks.
Apart from these 20 home remedies that treat bed bug bite scars, make sure you also visit our extermination section to get rid of bed bugs permanently.

Can You Sue a Hotel for Bed Bugs? | Tiano Odell Law
Can You Sue a Hotel for Bed Bugs?
Bed bugs are a fear for anyone who travels and with good reason. These tiny bugs are painful, and they can be extremely difficult and expensive to get rid of once they have infested an area. If bed bugs hitchhiked onto your clothing or your luggage from a hotel room, you may be feeling like someone should compensate you for the cost and nuisance of their removal, which might even include alternative living arrangements until the bugs have been cleared from your home.
These insects are small about the size of an apple seed brown, and oval. They live off the blood of people and animals. They crawl across floors and ceilings. Like lice, they dont fly but they are excellent hitchhikers and have been known to hitch onto travelers luggage or clothing after staying in hotels.
Some people assume that bed bugs are from dirty residences, but thats not necessarily the case, and they dont transmit diseases. Any area can get infested with bed bugs; all it takes is one to infest an entire residence. They have been found in 5-star hotels as well as low-income housing.
Getting rid of bed bugs isnt easy once one has found its way into your home. Wash and dry all clothing and bedding in the hottest water cycle of your washing machine. They can be killed by heat. You can try to vacuum your beds and furniture, but in the worst cases, youll need to discard them. Steam clean any carpeting in addition to vacuuming. When you empty the vacuum bin, put the refuse into a sealed container.
The good news is that you can sue a hotel for negligence if you got bed bugs after a stay. The more difficult news is that you must prove the hotel was negligent and that negligence is what caused your luggage or clothing to become targeted.
To prove negligence, youll have to prove the hotel knew about the infestation and didnt take proper measures to rid the rooms of the bugs, or that the hotel didnt do proper inspections and that lack of care resulted in the bed bug infestation. What makes this difficult to prove is the initial invisibility of a few bed bugs. How would a hotel know if there was an issue at an early stage? One hitchhiker could populate your entire home. It would be impossible for a hotel to have this kind of foresight at least that is likely what the court will think.
If you have had an infestation, be sure to keep all evidence of your hotel stay as well as receipts for everything youve paid for treatment and bed bug removal.
You can file a lawsuit if you find enough evidence that the hotel acted negligently in their response to bed bugs. Your possible damages may include:
As early as last year, West Virginia was still in the throes of a bed bug epidemic. Tenants of homes infested with bed bugs had no protection under state or federal laws. Current state law requires that hotels be free of bed bugs, but there is no state law regarding rentals.
Because the prevalence of bed bugs in this area is such an issue, hotels should be diligent in their prevention of bed bug infestations. If you think your home was infested because you stayed in a hotel with bed bugs, contact an attorney at Tiano ODell, PLLC to discuss your case.

What areBed Bugs?
Bed bugs are flat, wingless, bloodsucking insects that measure about 1/8 - 1/4inch long. They range in color from light brown to reddish-brown. A bed bug can lay up to 540 eggs in a l ifetime, and the brood is then able to reprodu ce in only 21 days. Bed bugs are a nuisance pest only, and are not known to spread disease.
Bed bugs can be found throughout the world. During the latter part of the 20th century, bed bugs were relatively scarce. However in recent years, with increased domestic and international travel, bed bug activity has made a resurgence in the United States. Bed bugs may crawl into or attach themselves to clothing, luggage, furniture or any other item a person has in an infested area. Wherever this newly infested item is moved, bed bugs can make a new home and stay.
If you have bed bugs, do not panic. Bed bugs can be contained and eliminated from your home or business establishment with the proper course of action.
Because bed bugs do not move long distances by themselves, a population can be contained if they are not moved by other means. Do not move new items into an infested room or take items out of this room. If items must be removed from the infested room, they should be first placed in trash bags that are tied securely before removal. Once removed, fabric items in the bag should be washed immediately.
If the items are to be discarded, trash bags should be placed in a closed container not located next to the house or building.
Wash Fabric Items
Fabric items that need to be laundered include clothing, sleepwear, pet bedding, mattress covers, pillowcases and covers, cushions and covers, curtains, dust ruffles, throw rugs. tablecloths, towels and other linens.
Items should be washed with a strong detergent in the hottest temperature setting possible and then stored away from the infested room until the bed bugs are eliminated.
Move Pictures & Furnishings
Items such as pictures and decorations should be taken off the walls, and all furnishings should be moved to the center of the room. Thisreducesmany potential hiding areas and maximizes the distance between the furniture and the walls. This distance helps reduce bed bugmobility to new locations in a home or building.
If bed bugs do not crawl inside the walls, they aremore quickly controlled.
Discard or Cover Mattresses
Old mattresses with holes in them should be thrown away. If mattresses are new or in a good condition, they can be vacuumed, placed in direct sunlight for a few hours on a warm day, and then placed
inside a zippered plastic mattress cover so that bed bugscannot crawlout.
Pest Control
Hiring a pest management company is recommended. Pest management professionals can locate all bed bug hiding areas and apply a treatment that will effectively eliminate the population.
