Reporting Infested Hotels Got Bed Bugs? Bedbugger Forums
I have seen plenty of hotel "bed bug reports" on TripAdvisor and the Bed Bug Registry. These are certainly channels you can use if you want to complain about an experience in a hotel.
I understand concerns that these forums do not provide exhaustive data on "where bed bugs are." They are simply based on reports submitted by those who want to submit them. They are what they are. And there are good reasons for not contributing in some cases.
I'd be careful about alleging that people are taking bribes to remove reports. You have to remember that there are often multiple sides to a story.
I suspect most consumers are making legitimate complaints, and hotel management would be wise to listen.
On the other hand, some people do submit false reports or invented complaints. Some people are angry at a firm (for whatever reason -- even disgruntled employees), and may try to cause damage in this way. In those cases, the hotel may be the victim. There may be reasons for removing a post, evidence that the person running the site can see that the rest of us can't.
My interactions with Maciej Ceglowski, the guy who runs the Bed Bug Registry, have been very positive, and I think he's trying to do a good job. It's impossible to run a site like that and not get threatened with legal action left and right.
If you have concerns about why particular posts have disappeared from that site, I would simply ask him. His email is at the bottom of the site's pages.
I started and run the site but am "not an expert."

Bed Bugs | The City of Lakewood, Ohio
Bed bugs have been around for thousands of years. In recent years their populations have increased and a growing number of communities are hard at work educating homeowners on the best ways to protect themselves. Bedbugs can be eliminated quickly and safely, but in most cases you wont be able to do it alone. The city recognizes the growing concern and is prepared to assist Lakewood homeowners by providing them with the tools they need to stop bedbugs cold!
A new ordinance was passed by city council in November of 2017 to clarify tenant and owner responsibility. Owners are responsible for eradicating bed bugs and the best option is to hire a qualified, state licensed exterminator. Tenants are the first line of defense. They must notify the owner promptly, and then help exterminators prepare the unit for successful extermination.
If you think you have bedbugs, dont panic! Call Lakewood Alive at 216-521-0655 and have a professional identify if its a bedbug. Different pests require different treatments, so to save time and money make sure you know what bug you are dealing with before starting any treatments. Non-toxic heat treatments and commercial pesticide applications can be very effective, but both are very dangerous if misapplied. There is plenty you can do yourself to help the exterminator, but rely on professional advice to protect your family and your home. Never use a chemical for anything other than what has been stated on the label.
