Step 1: Bed Bug Heat Treatment
Heat is an essential part of bed bug remediation because it kills bed bug eggs. Powders and sprays do not kill bed bug eggs. Even the products that claim to kill eggs are not consistently effective. However, heat is never enough on its own. It is essential to use additional methods which make up for the shortcomings of heat treatment for bed bugs.
The bed bug powder treatment we employ utilizes a special power duster device which injects powder into the walls through the electrical outlets and other cracks and holes. This will kill any bugs hiding within the walls and also creates a protective barrier between one room and the next. Stopping bed bugs from spreading through the wall to or from an adjacent apartment or condo suite is essential for controlling and containing bed bug infestations in multi-unit buildings.
Our bed bug spray kills bed bugs on contact but also lasts as a protective surface treatment to keep your home and furniture protected for up to 6 months. This is the #1 key reason why most discount bed bug exterminators fail. Cheap exterminators use cheap spays that only last 1 2 weeks this is why they need to do a second treatment two weeks apart because the first wears off faster than it takes for the last couple bed bugs to come out of hiding. However, when you use a high-quality, long-lasting residual bed bug spray it will not only ensure any lingering bugs are killed in that 3rd and 4th week window, but lasts for up to 6 months to keep your home protected long after the bed bugs are completely eliminated. This is especially helpful for people who are not sure where their bed bugs come from.
A majority of our new customers find out about us through their friends people we have helped in the past who were happy with our service. We often help people fix pest problems that have plagued them for months or years, in many cases after other companies have failed to fix the problem. Here are some reasons why:

Use Tea Tree Oil for Bed Bugs and Get Them Out of Your Home
Bed bugs can be a problematic nuisance that can come into your home, bite you and make you very uncomfortable. Unfortunately, they are so small that you dont always notice them when they first appear on your pillow or in your bed. Many people dont even realize they have bedbugs until they spot the clusters of bites that are so common with these insects.
While there are a lot of chemical treatments and traps for bed bugs that can work for many, these typically contain toxic ingredients that arent so good for children and pets. If youre trying to maintain an organic, natural household, you may be looking for something else to deal with your bed bug problem. Tea tree oil may be the answer that youre looking for.
For many people, tea tree oil is an especially effective remedy when combined with other forms of bed bug control at the same time. While you might read that the use of this oil for bedbugs is a myth, the fact is that it can work when prepared and used properly.
Bed bug remedies that utilize essential oils vary, and many of them claim that bed bugs simply dont like the feel or odor of the oil when applied to the mattress or sheets. That isnt the only issue at play when it comes to this essential oil and these nasty home invaders.
Bed bugs are commonly found in motels and hotels.
The longer you wait to treat your home for bedbugs, the more likely you are to need professional help or powerful toxins to kill them.
Heres how you can use TTO against problematic bugs in your home:

WarningTea tree oil can be problematic for humans when it comes into contact with skin in its undiluted state. Take care to avoid getting undiluted tea tree oil on your hands. Wearing dish washing gloves or disposable plastic gloves when making the solution is a wise choice.
Tea tree oil spray is easy to make on your own, but you need to know how to use it. Unlike standard bed bugs traps, homemade TTO sprays require considerable effort on the part of the user.
Tea tree oil is an often effective home remedy, but it isnt a cure-all solution. In fact, it has some major pros and cons when it comes to using it in your home.
Pros:
Cons:
Tea tree oil can be an efficient home remedy for getting rid of bedbugs if you catch them very early. Since youll basically need to spray the bed bugs directly with the TTO mixture though, it may not be effective if you have a large infestation or bed bugs in multiple places throughout your home.
If youre going to use tea tree oil, your best bet is to spray quickly and carefully monitor your home for results. In many cases, a combination of tea tree oil in your bed paired with traps around your home will do the best job.
When youre dealing with bed bugs its important to stamp them out as quickly as possible. Dont waste any time or they may spread and become nearly impossible to remove without a professional exterminator.

Bed Bug Control – nomorebugs.com
Bed bugs are all over the news these days. In 1990, most Americans thought bed bugs were a myth. Very few Americans had ever experienced a bed bug bite and fewer had ever seen a bed bugwith the exception of world travelers. In the 90s, there were almost zero recorded bed bug infestations in the U.S. But now, thats all changed. From the upscale hotels on the east coast to the dorms of your local college, the bed bugs are biting. The prevailing thought is that, after decades of effective bed bug control in America, bed bugs are coming with travelers from Asia and Eastern Europe.
And while you might not have been directly affected by bed bugs, you probably know someone who has. In 2015, national pest control chain Terminix compiled a list of the 15 cities in the United States with the worst bed bug infestations. You might think that the list only included big, international hubs like New York, Los Angeles and Miami, but it hit a little closer to home than that.
The list was full of major American cities all across the country, including Oklahoma City, which came in at number 13. While this may sound surprising to you, it unfortunately was not surprising to us, since we deal with bed bug infestations every day. However, with more than 60 years of Oklahoma pest control experience, we know what it takes to keep you tucked in, sleeping tight without the bed bugs biting. No other company in the area has the bed bug fighting experience or technology that we do at Arrow Exterminators. If youre dealing with a bed bug infestation, call us today to speak with a bed bug expert about getting rid of those pesky pests once and for all.
Bed bugs usually bite people at night as their victim sleeps. They feed by piercing the skin with an elongated beak through which they withdraw blood. Bed Bugs tend to bite us on any part of the body, whereas mosquito bites are usually on the feet and ankles. They will suck for up to 10 minutes before retreating from your skin to digest their new meal.
While they get their name from their most common hiding place, bed bugs can be found in places other than the bed. They can be found in carpeting, couches, chairs and other places as well. In an infected room, bed bugs will fan out to occupy pretty much any surface. They have even been found in wooden dressers and in electronics like microwaves and televisions in infested hotel rooms.
Besides the distinctive bite marks they leave behind, bed bugs leave other identifying signs. Conduct a thorough sweep of any room you think might be infected. Pay extra attention as you check the corners of mattresses and the undersides of couch and chair cushions, as these are favored bed bug hiding spots. Bed bugs leave behind distinctive stains which may be a rusty red color and dark spots about the size of the tip of a ballpoint pen. These dark spots may look like someone sprinkled pepper on your mattress. You might also be able to spot bed bug eggs or eggshells, which are tinyalso about the size of the tip of a ballpoint penand a pale yellow color. These stains, skins and shells are easier to spot on light colored mattresses, sheets and furniture, but evidence of a bed bug infestation can be found on any color material by a trained professional.
Bed bugs will also leave behind skins they have shed, which are a brownish red color and crush easily between your fingers. Spotting a live bed bug is also a surefire sign that you are dealing with a bed bug infestation. Bed bugs are a ruddy brown color with very small, oval shaped bodies. At their largest, they might be half the length of your fingernails. They may look similar to ticks or tiny cockroaches. They dont fly, but they do scuttle around very quickly, so it is unusual to see one alive.
Believe it or not, some people try to protect themselves by applying conventional insect repellents. Mosquito and tick repellents are ineffective as bed bug control, and you wont fool them by sleeping with the lights on either.
Bed bugs are resistant to traditional insecticides used for pest control purposes. But for some reason, pest control companies try to use these chemical solutions even though they know they wont work! What really works is a heat, and lots of it. Specifically, a particular heat treatment known as Thermal Remediation. This state-of-the-art technology was created to be used by pest control companies specifically to eliminate those pesky bed bugs.
And were not talking about turning up your thermostat. Studies show that bed bugs, in all life style stages, cant survive heat over 122F. Call our bed bug control experts today. Well have you or your guests sleeping soundly in no time!

We hate to say it, but nowhere is safe from bed bugs anymore. Its not just homes and hotels that have experienced this little nuisance. Gyms, taxis, airplanes, libraries, tourist attractionsall these places and more have experienced bed bug infestations. You cant avoid every place that might have a bed bug problem, but you can be vigilant about checking for bed bugs before they get the chance to bite you.
Whenever you travel, make sure to inspect all the furnitureespecially the bedbefore you settle in and unpack. Regardless of whether youre staying in a hotel, with friends or with family, there is always a risk of bed bugs. Check the corners of the mattress and the undersides of couch and chair cushions for the signs of bed bugs we mentioned earlier before you get too comfortable. At home, make sure to change you bed linens often and wash the old sheets in hot water. Check for signs of bed bugs before you put fresh sheets on.
If you are travelling, you can also pack your belongings in plastic bags to keep these pests away. Pack your clothing inside Ziploc bags to keep them safe or place your entire suitcase inside a plastic garbage bag and tie up the ends when youre not using the suitcase. When you get back home home, wash all your clothing in hot watereven the items you didnt wear. The hot cycle will kill any bed bugs or bed bug eggs that were able to hide in your bags and come home with you. And before bringing your suitcase inside, thoroughly vacuum it out to get rid of any bed bugs or eggs hiding in the suitcase itself.

Bed bugs are a common pest throughout Missouri, the United States, and many parts of the world. They are excellent hitchhikers and can easily be moved from place to place on personal belongings such as bags, coats, and other items.
Because bed bugs can be picked up so easily, they can be found anywhere that people can be found! This includes private homes, hotels or motels, movie theaters, schools, and many other places around the community.
Bed bugs are not a new pest, although reports and complaints of bed bugs have been increasing in the last several years. The increase is likely the result of many things including more frequent travel, lack of knowledge about bed bugs and prevention steps, resistance of bed bugs to widely available pesticide products, and other factors. While bed bugs are an inconvenient pest to encounter, the good news is that they do not transmit diseases!
To learn more about bed bugs, click through the resources above. Please note that some of the information was developed by other states. Those materials are very informative but may reference programs or services that are not available in Missouri.

There is a lot of moving going on in the area I live. Many leases are turning over August 1st or September 1st. I have seen lots of furniture on the curb for free and there are several places that offer furniture swaps or sell the used furniture at bargain prices. There are also a number of people giving their used furniture away tofriends they know that could use it.
I had a caller yesterday concerned about her college-aged son getting a free couch from a friend. Her main concern was if bed bugs might be present. She did not want him to be affected by that or tointroduce bed bugs into his apartment. That is a legitimate concern for sure.
Bed bugs are a headache and can be difficult to get rid of on your own. The first thing you need to do is make sure there really are bed bugs present. The EPA and the University of Kentucky have great websites with pictures for identifying, preventing, and getting rid of bed bugs. It can be very difficult to get rid of bed bugs yourself. Most often it is necessary to contact a pest controlcompany to come and rid your infested areas of bed bugs.
Besides being concerned about used furniture you might pick up, traveling can alsobe a concern. The EPA hastips for travel when you are staying in a hotel room. Since bed bugs are most active at night when you are sleeping it is a good idea to be diligent when you check into your room. It takes only a few minutes and can prevent a lot of hassles for you.
Bed bugs were practically eradicated a few decades ago but infestations have increased dramatically in recent years due to changes in pest control practices, less effective insecticides due to bed bugs being more resistant and the general population not being as vigilant as we should be.
Bed bugs do not favor any socioeconomic class or level of cleanliness. They can be anywhere. I hope none of us ever has to personally deal with them but if you do or know of others who are dealing with them, I hope the research based sites mentioned above are helpful.
I graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Home Economics Education. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and traveling.
