Central heating and packed cupboards to make our homes perfect habitats for rats, mice and even cockroaches.

The worst sort of unwanted guests, like fleas and bed bugs, use us as a food source.

And theres nothing more annoying than having your favourite jumper eaten by moths.

At best, living with a pest infestation is unhygienic.

But at worst, scratching sounds or fear of being bitten can keep you up all night and have a real impact on your health.

While London rats thankfully no longer carry the plague, they are fond of chewing through electrical wires and causing expensive damage to your home.

Like true Londoners, even these skin crawling creatures have a preference for which postcodes they want to call home.

Pest control company Fantastic Services have worked out which London boroughs have the worst infestations based on how many call-outs they made in the past 12 months.

While there are certainly many more cases of pests infesting Londons homes, here is an idea of the London boroughs with the worst rodent, bedbug, cockroach, moth and flea infestations:
