The Indian outsourcing company Wipro has a problem with bugs. Not software bugs, but rather bed bugs, which are causing its employees in Chamblee, Georgia, a great deal of grief.

Wipro has a call centre with about 600 employees at the facility in DeKalb County and the TV station 11Alive said since late May, the bed bugs had been a problem.

However, employees are still being asked to go to work, even though the facilities manager at the centre, Stephanie Harris, admitted that there was a bug infestation.

One of the employees, Kwanita Holmes, sent the TV station a picture of what she said was a bed bug bite on her arm.

Harris told 11Alive's Chris Hopper: Wipro is doing all that they could possibly do to make sure that the place is being treated the people are being protected.

When asked whether the employees were still being asked to come to work, she told Hopper that he would have to speak to the management team about that.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the DeKalb Board of Health are said to be investigating the complaints.

When Harris was asked how long it would take to rid the building of the bugs, she replied: "Could take three months, could take six months, it could take five, six years, who knows."
