Laundry Detergent Additive Is A First Line Of Defense Against Bedbugs Says New Planet Amazing Report
The treatment is a laundry additive that has been used
in large-scale treatment of bedbugs in hotels and individually
in homes.
Austin,
TX (PRWEB) January 18, 2012
Justin
Douglas knows that bedbugs are a problem in the USA. As
one of the expert researchers at the environmental product
think tank Planet
Amazing, he has taken notice of statistics that show
bedbugs are on the increase in the USA. According to CNN,
bedbugs in New York City are up 10,000% from just six years
ago, and Mr. Douglas says the bedbug problem is widespread.
"A laundry
detergent additive can be the key to treating mass bedbug
infestations," Mr. Douglas says. "We have found a laundry
detergent additive that is safe for humans and which kills
the bedbugs and eggs. With industrial machines the rinsing is
very powerful, and this additive can be used for the entire
washing process in hotels and motels to treat bedbugs or
proactively prevent bedbug infestation."
According the Planet Amazing think tank, bedbugs can live in
sheets, comforters and even clothing that's been on the
floor. Mr. Douglas says that the laundry additive takes care
of the washing of contaminated sheets and clothing, and is
specially formulated to chemically activate in water to kill
the bed bugs and eggs on fabric. "You simply add the additive
to your clothes washer and run on a regular cycle," he says.
"The laundry additive is proven to kill all of the bed bugs
from your linens and has been shown to be safe for all types
of linens. And, because it is safe and non-toxic, it will not
harm you or your family. Bedbugs are at epidemic levels in
some areas of the country and we at Planet Amazing are
working to provide solutions that are affordable to treat
this problem."

NPMA’s Eastern Conference Highlights Speeches By Industry Notables
The 2012 National
Pest Management Association’s Eastern Regional Conference, taking
place January 18-20, 2012 in Atlantic City, NJ, will feature
seminars and lectures given by industry icons.
NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) January 18, 2012
Many of the best and brightest from the pest management industry
will be presenting at this years’ National Pest Management
Association’s Eastern Regional Conference. Among the notables is
Andrew
Klein, president of the New York-based pest solutions
provider, Assured
Environments.
The 2012 eastern portion of the regional conference series,
presented each year by the NPMA, will be held at the Bally’s in
Atlantic City, NJ. The event will highlight more than 20
educational seminars ranging from topics such as “Pest Control in
Commercial Kitchens: an IPM Approach” to “Bird Control Methods
and Equipment.” Not only will these presentations be of great
value to anyone in the industry, they can also serve as
re-certification credits.
Klein, a staple at these events for several years, will be
presenting the entitled “What you need to know about bed
bug detection from a technical and liability standpoint.”
Clearly a mouthful, this topic is an essential component of any
pest control agency that focuses efforts on bed
bug treatments. “Whether you manage your own dogs or
outsource bed bug scent detection services, there are crucial
pieces of information that one needs to know in order to make
it a successful part of the business while avoiding potential
pitfalls,” explains Klein.
Bed bugs
continue to be a problem throughout the US. Assured
Environments - based in the state with the highest levels of
infestations - has been using dogs to detect bed bugs since
2006 when the resurgence hit. “Bed bug scent detection has become
an essential component of our business and we are anxious to
share any information we can to support a joint effort in
combating this pest,” says Klein.
The conference will take place January 18-20, 2012. For more
information about the event please visit http://www.npmapestworld.org/events.

NFL action was awesome; goals aplenty
Rich Levey
What a great day of football.
Sunday’s conference championship games
were awesome.
For the first time I can remember, each
of the four teams playing had the potential to win the Super
Bowl.
I properly predicted the winners of both
games, but I could just as easily have missed both.
One of the more interesting aspects of
Sunday’s games I thought was the fact that the goats were the
bigger stories than the heroes.
The goats in the Patriots/Ravens game
were Lee Evans, who dropped the game-winning touchdown pass, and
kicker Billy Cundiffe, who missed a chip-shot field goal, which
would have sent the game into overtime.
I’ve often wondered if a kicker who
loses a game like that rides home on the same plane as his
teammates. I think he’d have been safer hitchhiking.
The goat from the Giants/49ers game was
wide receiver/punt returner Kyle Williams, who was responsible
for 10 New York points, and cost his team the game.
Before I continue, I put forth this
query:
Why is someone who loses a game in some
ignoble fashion referred to as a “goat?”
Goats are not hateful, despicable
creatures. They don’t deserve to be scorned like this.
They smell bad and make annoying noises,
but so does my brother, Coach Bob.
Shouldn’t we refer to these sports
“goats” as some more universally reviled animal?
For example, rats, wasps, fire ants,
roaches, mosquitoes, bed bugs or vampire bats?
Or if you live down Coast Guard Road in
Emerald Isle, deer.
I think so.
Heretofore, in my columns sports “goats”
will be referred to as vampire bats.
But enough about Sunday’s goats, er,
vampire bats.
There were some heroic efforts, as
well.
I thought New England’s massive
defensive tackle Vince Wilfork was a monster and sparked a
resurgent Patriot defense.
For the Giants, Eli Manning, who in
addition to playing football also invented the cotton gin,
continues to impress.
Put Manning and the Giants on the big
stage, and they always seem to come through.
It’s shaping up to be a great Super
Bowl, but you have to wait a week for my prediction.
Remember, next week is the annual
Tideland News Super Bowl prediction column.
Stay tuned.
