For some clients the advanced preparation needed for bed bug extermination is overwhelming. For others their time is their most precious commodity and they simply do not have time to clean, launder, and organize their living space and personal possessions before a bed bug extermination treatment. Enter in the Bed Bug Concierge, a new service that makes getting rid of bed bugs in your home or apartment easy.

The Bed Bug Concierge will provide bed bug extermination preparation and off-site fumigation.A specially trained preparation crew will care for all your belongings as if they were our own. Here are just a few of the things that the Bed Bug Concierge can do for you:

Bed Bug Concierge service personnel are trustworthy, competent, and efficient. All personnel undergo a background check before employment. Once you have selected the items that the Bed Bug Concierge team is to prepare, they visually inspects each item for bed bugs. each item is wiped with Isopropyl alcohol and encapsulated utilizing heavy duty clear plastic. Whenever possible the team will remove the air in the plastic package utilizing a Hepa vacuum. These prepared plastic bags will remain on your property sealed until after the second application of bed bug insecticides. If we feel that there is not enough room for the Stern Environmental bed bug extermination team to operate in, additional items will be removed to the team's temporary storage facility for you.

All clothing, linens, and soft goods such as draperies will be sent to be fumigated at an off-site secure location.Fumigation for bed bugs is done with Sulfuryl Fluoride (Vikane). Vikane is a gas that leaves no residue or film.It is odorless, colorless, and tasteless.

Furniture items can even be removed for fumigation as needed. Once the fumigation is complete (typically in 16 to 21 hours), your items are moved into a climate controlled secure storage facility and are temporarily stored for you for up to 14 days.

Once the Stern Environmental Group bed bug exterminators have completed a final application to kill your bed bugs, the Bed Bug Concierge team will make an appointment with you or your building to ensure the use of the freight elevator to expedite the return of your belongings.

The Bed Bug Concierge can even offer unpacking services to help you get your personal effects back in drawers and in your closet right away.

Bed Bug Information From The Pest Control Pros In RI, MA And CT

Bed bugs are small insects that feed entirely on human blood. They were nearly eradicated from the US at one point, but due to stricter regulations on chemicals used in pesticides and increases in international travel, bed bugs are making a strong comeback.

Bed bugs are about the size of an apple seed. They are flat and oval shaped and are reddish brown in color. Bed bug nymphs will look like smaller versions of the adults. The eggs are all white and extremely small. They are very difficult to detect with the naked eye.

Yes. Bed bugs are nocturnal, which means they hide during the day and are active at night. They usually hide close to a food source; under the sheets, behind headboards, behind outlet covers and other undisturbed places. At night they come out and feed on human blood.

Bed bugs are not known to carry or transmit any diseases to humans. However, their bite often results in an itchy, red welt on the skin. These bites often are in straight lines and several bites in a row.

If you are waking up in the morning with insect bites that you did not have when you went to bed, there is a good chance you have bed bugs. Other common signs include:

Small spots of blood on your pillow or sheets - These are leftover from nighttime feedings.

Caste bed bug skins - As bed bugs grow they shed their old, empty skins.

Small, white eggs Bed bug eggs are very small and hard to see, but if you find small, white insect eggs, they could point to a bed bug problem.

If you find these, or any other signs that make you think you may have a bed bug problem, call your local pest control professional today! Big Blue Bug Solutions has been providing effective and responsible solutions to bed bug problems in Rhode Island for over 75 years. Bed bugs are excellent hitchhikers. The bed bugs in your home most likely caught a ride in your luggage, in your briefcase, on used furniture, or even on your clothes. Bed bugs can be found anywhere. They are commonly encountered in cabs, on the bus, in airplanes, in motels and in thrift shops or other places that sell used clothing. Contrary to popular belief, bed bugs are not a sanitation issue; you can just as easily get bed bugs at a five star hotel as you can at the run down, side-of-the-road motel down the street.

On Aug 21 2012 I attended a conference in the beginning of June of 2012 in this hotel. Returned home and a month later discovered an infestation of bed bugs in my master bedroom. This is very likely where I picked them up and brought them home as this is the only traveling I have done and we discovered the problem about a month later which is about how long it would have taken for them to infest our home. I really... Read Full Report at bedbugregistry.com

Bed Bug Information & Training – Bedbugs Pest Control in CT …

Bed Bugs Are Back

(Hemiptera Cimicidae)

Im sure most of you have heard the phrase dont let the bed bugs bite.

Bedbugs were a common problem prior to World War II and the widespread use of high residual pesticides such as DDT made them extinct in North America. Now after a 50-year absence these unpleasant pests have made a comeback. They are commonly carried in clothing, language or furniture and the more traffic a facility has the greater the potential for a problem.

Bed bugs feed on human blood. Although they are not known to spread disease, their damage to your reputation can have a cost beyond counting. Because these pests can be difficult to control, experienced, expert help is a necessity.

If you see any of the following bed bug warning signs, be sure to contact (860) 878-9128 to do a free pest evaluation of your property.
