The bedbug problem in our country is atpandemic levels. Its just not a problem for the hospitality industry anymore. Home owners, travelers (plane and train seats), retail shops and college dorms are now even affected by this blood sucking pest that seeks you out at night. This has been the preverbal BOOGEYMAN for the hospitality industry for years. Modern day pesticides are not strong enough, rouge pest control companies that are not educated in this processare either using outside pesticides indoor or not treating the problem properly.

Atlanta Bedbugs, a Georgia Clean Company has the track proven green technology to rid this problem. The old way was to use pesticides wrap the entire room of contents in plastic and haul it away in an isolated roll of container. Costing the hotels anywhere from $5,000 - $20,000 to treat and remodel a single room (price depending on room contents and value). We at Atlanta Bedbugs can save you 80-90% of that cost by using our Thermal Induction Process.

Bed bugs feed on humans, usually at night when they are asleep. They feed by piercing the skin with their elongated mouthparts, which consist of two stylets that normally fold under their body when at rest but fully extend during blood-meal feeding. One stylet has a groove that carries saliva into the wound, while the other has a groove through which body fluids from the host are taken in.

A single feeding may take up to 10 minutes, and feels like a pin prick, but because feeding usually occurs at night when people are asleep they are not aware they have been bitten until afterwards. However, saliva injected during the feeding can later produce large swellings on the skin that itch and may become irritated and infected when scratched. Swelling may not develop until a day or more after feeding, and some people do not show symptoms. Bed bugs currently are not considered to be disease carriers.

In addition to the direct injury to humans, bed bugs have stink glands that leave odors. They also leave unsightly fecal spots on bed sheets and around their hiding places. These spots are darkish red in color, roughly round, and can be very small.

Call Clark Pest Remedy if you need to exterminate bed bugs. We are professional Atlanta exterminators and will help you with your Atlanta bed bug problems. Bedbugs or bed bugs are small parasitic insects of the family Cimicidae (most commonly Cimex lectularius). The term usually refers to species that prefer to feed on human blood. All insects in this family live by feeding exclusively on the blood of warm-blooded animals. The name 'bedbug' is derived from the insect's preferred habitat of houses and especially beds or other areas where people sleep. Bedbugs, though not strictly nocturnal, are mainly active at night and are capable of feeding unnoticed on their hosts. A number of health effects may occur due to bed bugs including skin rashes, psychological effects and allergic symptoms. Diagnosis involves both finding bed bugs and the occurrence of compatible symptoms. Treatment is otherwise symptomatic. Bedbugs have been known by a variety of names including wall louse, mahogany flat, crimson rambler, heavy dragoon, chinche, and redcoat. Largely eradicated as pests in the developed world (primarily through the use of DDT) in the early 1940s, bedbugs have seen a resurgence since about 1995.

Bites and Concerns

Bed bugs usually bite people at night while they are sleeping.

They feed by piercing the skin with an elongated beak through which they withdraw blood. Engorgement takes about three to 10 minutes, yet the person seldom knows they are being bitten.

Bed bugs normally do not reside on people like head or body lice ? immediately after feeding they crawl off and reside elsewhere to digest their meal.

Symptoms after being bitten vary with the individual. Many develop an itchy red welt or localized swelling within a day or so of the bite. Others have little or no reaction, and in some people the reaction is delayed.

Unlike flea bites that occur mainly around the ankles, bed bugs feed on any skin exposed while sleeping (face, neck, shoulders, back, arms, legs, etc.). The welts and itching are often wrongly attributed to other causes, such as mosquitoes. For these reasons, infestations may go a long time unnoticed, and can become quite large before being detected.

Bed Bugs and Renters: Know Your Rights

Get Garcia, Get Results: International Adoption in Jeopardy

An Arcadia mother was trying to adopt a disabled boy who lived with her family for years when an apparent clerical error threatened to derail the process. Ana Garcia reports for NBC4 News at 11 p.m. on Sept. 20, 2012

To Upgrade or Not to Upgrade?: iPhone 5 Storage Space

With the Friday release of Apple's iPhone 5, users are facing a quandary: to upgrade or not to upgrade? Senior analyst Wayne Lam says each 16 gigabytes of memory costs Apple about $10, but consumers pay closer to $100 for each upgrade -- a 10-fold increase. Ana Garcia reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Sept. 21, 2012.

They are the easiest pests to bring home and one of the toughest to eliminate: bed bugs. And theyve catapulted Los Angeles to the top of an unsavory list.

In 2011, LA was one of the five most infested cities in the country and for the throngs of Angelenos who rent their homes, getting rid of the tiny bugs can be even tougher.

Still, renters have rights. Tormented by bed bugs, Claudine Penedo and Georgia Shiner called on the NBC4 Get Garcia Team to investigate the infestation.

I flip my cases over, I flip my bed over, every day, every night and I still get bit, Penedo said.

Its so frustrating and stressful, I cant even have people in my home, she said. I feel like a leper.

When the single mother moved into her Valley Village apartment in January she had no idea that the woman living below her had been battling bed bugs for nearly three years.

12 On Your Side: Ga. woman battling management over bed bugs

News 12 at 6 o'clock / Thursday, June 7, 2012

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- A great-grandmother is fighting with management at her apartment complex after she says bed bugs infiltrated her home.

The bed bugs are gone now inside Edna Turner's apartment, but management at Georgian Place wants her to pay up.

"Oh, I am very angry," Turner said.

Management is demanding her to pay the extermination fees involved with getting rid of the bud bugs. Turner's lease agreement does not state anywhere that she is responsible for extermination.

Georgian Place management told News 12's On Your Side that Turner is responsible for the fees because they require tenants to sign a bed bug addendum. However, they admitted Turner never signed the document since she moved in years before they implemented it.

Attorney Richard Goolsby says Georgia landlord tenant laws are a bit muddled, so it's always best for a tenant to try to resolve issues outside of court.

"We would recommend that a tenant negotiate with the landlord whenever possible," he said.

Often, court costs outweigh the time and money spent fighting a landlord tenant issue. Goolsby recommends being proactive by reading all lease documents, keeping copies of everything and asking about pest control policies before signing anything.

Turner says she is leaving Georgian Place as soon as her lease comes up in another month.
