Bed bugs re-infested a dormitory in the University of Washington. In response to it, My Cleaning Products recommended a product that could truly kill bed bugs and prevent their comeback.

Seattle, WA (PRWEB) February 04, 2014

Bed bugs came back to one of the University of Washington dormitories. And stating that those critters are indeed difficult to completely eliminate, My Cleaning Products gave out some tips and even recommended a pesticide-exempt bed bug spray to help the public kill bed bugs for real and prevent their return.

Based on a report from dailyuw.com posted on January 30, 2014, the dorm plagued by the critters was particularly the Haggett Hall of the university. Since last fall, it shared that it had been infested three times already.

The report said that the initial infestation in the building first occurred in October 2013. However, months after it was treated, in December, it stated that it was again plagued by the crawlies. The following month, January 20 14, it relayed that the pest returned once again. And even after the last treatment on January 16, it added that a number of the pesky insects were still sighted in the place.

Here is an excerpt from the post Bed Bugs Return to UW Dormitory by My Cleaning Products.

It's not that they are welcome, but bed bugs have returned to a University of Washington's dormitory.

The tiny critters particularly re-infested the campus' Haggett Hall. And including their recent comeback, it was already the third time that they showed up in the dorm.

According to My Cleaning Products, the bed bug case at Haggett Hall showed the stubborn streak of those critters. However, it stressed that it didn't mean they couldn't be completely eliminated once their infestation has started.

MCP said that just as long as one detects and kills bed bugs early, their infestation could be prevented and so are their negative effects. But to do that, it asserted that one must first know the bed bug signs and prepare a bed bug spray. With those two steps, it said that one could get rid of the critters promptly before they have the chance to multiply and spread.

Bed Bugs Re-Infested University of Washington Dormitory

Its not that they are welcome, but bed bugs have returned to a University of Washingtons dormitory.

The tiny critters particularly re-infested the campus Haggett Hall. And including their recent comeback, it was already the third time that they showed up in the dorm.

It was back in October 2013 when the vampire-like critters first appeared in the said residence hall. The bed bug bites in one of the students living in the housing were what led to the discovery of their presence. Specifically, it led to a complete inspection on the 11th of the same month, followed by a treatment when the pests were confirmed.

However, in December 2013, the pesky creatures were again sighted in the dormitory. The same thing happened just this January. And despite the bed bug elimination implemented on the 16th of January, still a number of the crawlies were found between the 16th to 27th day of the month.

That night, I came back to my room and I saw this brown-black thing, Alice said. So I put a paper towel over it and I put it in a Ziploc baggie and at that point it was pissed and running around really fast [in the bag] and I thought Oh my God, what is this?

They contacted Haggett Hall Resident Director Jessica Hennessy to have the bug identified. Haggett Hall custodial supervisor Randall Riebe then confirmed that the creature was indeed a bed bug. Hennessy declined to provide comments on the matter.

When it comes to the bed bug spray though, the company specified that a person must pick the one that is both effective and safe so as not to compromise anybody's health. Such product to get is Bed Bug Bully, it cited.

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. -- A local pest control company hopes to make one family's holiday merrier. The family's home is infested with bed bugs. Pointe Pest Control participates in a national charitable event called "Taking the Bite out of the Holidays." Company owner Jacob Borg chose to treat one Spokane Valley family's crisis for free.

It's a good thing to do for the holidays, Borg said.

The service would normally cost several thousand dollars but Borg said the family did not have the money to call a professional.

This family in particular had bedbugs for over a year and she spent hundreds of dollar on home remedies, he said. She's tried to get rid of them. They got a family living here - people that are getting bit everyday.

Technicians spent all day Thursday working to evict the bed bugs. And in the bed bug business, heat kills.

So we are trying to get the ambient room temperature between 130 and 140 degrees.

Bed Bugs Infest WA at a Soaring Rate

Bed Bugs arent just found in the United States, but other countries as well. In fact traveling is a huge cause of bed bugs, bed bugs have been called the hitch hikers of the world. In the past six years there has been a great increase of bed bugs in West Australia. Pest control companies are reporting a 5780 per cent increase. The spread is from hotels, cinemas, private homes, offices and public transportation and the bugs have developed a resistance to chemical treatment. Infestations, like in cinemas, are extremely hard to control.

Typically in a private home someone may spend $600 to get rid of bed bugs, but Greg Mills (owner of Allpest) said he knew of a couple that had spent $7,000 to get rid of the pests in their home. In really bad infestations bed bugs can be found not only in beds but in cracks and crevices, curtains as well as the edge of carpets. Another reason for the huge rise in reported infestations is that bedbugs have built up a resistance to the low-toxicity chemicals used on mattresses to kill them.

Many agree that bed bugs are going to continue to be problematic but there also needs to be effort put forth in order to find a better way to detect and exterminate them.
